Ali Kashani and Mark Rhoades founded Citycentric in 2007 to combine their expertise and experience in the development and planning arenas in order to create sustainable infill housing, primarily in the City of Berkeley.  Citycentric seeks to model smart growth, which is increasingly being embraced by the residents of Berkeley as reflected in the 2008 Climate Action Plan and the new Downtown Plan.  Citycentric recognizes that locating housing near public transit is the most important way to reduce oil consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, and is therefore committed to development that furthers this goal and produces both economic and environmental benefits for the community and like-minded investors.
